We Welcome Groups
      Large and Small,
           Local or Visiting to
                  Come Build With Us!

Whether you are large or small, local, from a place far, far away, or in-between, come build with us! We usually have projects in progress all year around and we can accommodate nearly any type of group. We provide site supervision for our construction sites when needed.

The Blue Water Area sits on an International border and offers sandy beaches, the Great Lakes oldest lighthouse, a light ship open for tours, museums that highlight Thomas Edison, as Port Huron was his boyhood home, as well as the tall ship, Highlander Sea, open for tours in season, just to name a few.

All this is nestled on the shores of the busiest waterway in the world, the St. Clair River, and Lake Huron. We have gracious local hospitality from support of our local churches and eateries that cater to our visitors.

Accommodations can range from the use of a local church to using the local Boy Scout or Girl Scout Camp, camping at one of the local state parks, rental of a cottage on Lake Huron or a local motel. Churches are customarily free of charge. All other accommodations have a charge. Please email us with details with your needs and we will get back to you.

Construction volunteers must go through an orientation. This can either be completed on-line or we would be happy to send an Blue Water Habitat representative to your office.

We appreciate your interest in volunteering with Blue Water Habitat and look forward to working with you in the future!

About Volunteer Group Scheduling:

As the group leader, when you schedule your group via our Volunteer Opportunities Calendar, you can select each person who will be volunteering on each date, even if it will be different each time. You can also schedule your group without indicating who will be attending. Once you schedule your group, you can give out your Group Share Code link, which will allow anyone using that link to see your group schedule, and to schedule themselves to volunteer with your group (even if you did not explicitly add them to your group before). When scheduling your group, if you indicate you will have 10 volunteers on a date, but only 5 people are named on a date (by you or via the Share Code), we still expect your volunteer group to show up with the 10 volunteers you scheduled. It's very important that your show up with the number of volunteers which you schedule, not less and not more. Your group members will be able to see on the calendar what other group members are scheduled on each date.
